Bio: I am Ms. Tedesco, the Pre-K 4A Teacher at Divine Mercy Academy. With 15 years of experience in education, a Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication, and an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts, I am dedicated to fostering meaningful connections with both students and their families. I am currently pursuing post-graduate studies at William Paterson University, focusing on the latest advancements in educational strategies, technology, and leadership. My passion lies in inspiring young learners while collaborating closely with families to meet the individual needs of each child. I strive to reflect the teachings of Jesus by promoting values such as kindness, patience, and compassion. Through acts of service and gratitude, I encourage students to embrace and live out their faith. I am pleased to work alongside Mrs. Concepcion and Mrs. Colonno, who bring valuable experience and enthusiasm to our Pre-K 4A team. Their dedication enhances our classroom environment, allowing us to provide individualized attention and foster a supportive and engaging learning experience for each student.

I like working at the Academy because… Working at a Catholic school feels like a natural fit for me, as my entire family has attended Catholic schools in Brooklyn, NY, which have profoundly shaped our values and sense of community. I deeply appreciate how Catholic education seamlessly combines strong academics with faith-based moral principles, fostering not just intellectual growth but also compassion, integrity, and a commitment to service. Being part of such a community allows me to contribute to a mission that aligns with my personal and professional values
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a strong partnership between school and home, as I believe a child’s success is built on a collaborative foundation. By working closely with families, I aim to understand their unique goals and values, integrating them into the classroom to create a seamless connection between learning at school and at home. This approach ensures consistency, reinforces positive habits, and allows each child to thrive in a supportive and unified environment. Together, we build a community where students feel encouraged, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Fun Facts about me: I love track and field, and in high school, I placed 13th in the state of New Jersey for throwing Javelin. My Co-Captatin who is a distance runner is the Maid Of Honor in my upcoming wedding, I also enjoy watching and trying to learn any sport.
Shopping and going to the mall are my least favorite activities—I’d rather avoid them if I can.
I’m happiest when I’m outdoors, whether it’s hiking, exploring nature, or just enjoying fresh air. I want to be outside as much as possible.
When I’m not in the classroom you will find me… With friends and family, finding something delicious to eat, hopefully not shopping and outside!
Ask me about… What is one small step you could take today toward a bigger goal, even if you don’t have all the answers yet?"
My Personal Motto… “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” Arthur Ashe
